I use HTML on a fairly long HTML source file, so that the preview covers maybe 20 screenfuls. I use the Preview to see what I should change in the source (I'm editing posts to send out as emails). As soon as I make a change, say halfway down in the source file, the Previewer updates and returns me to the top of the file. But I was reading something halfway down, and that's where I need the Previewer to return to. But not only does it not automatically return to where it was, but also there's no Find. So I have to scroll down, looking for the right spot.

Since I'm making changes every few seconds, this is incredibly awkward.

It's a wonderful plug in, and has the potentiality to save me half an hour every day. But there' this one problem. Couldn't it store the location, in the file, of the page top / bottom and jump back there after a refresh?

This is something I've tried to add to the plugin, and it should work in version [v1.3.1.0] or even [v1.3.0.0]. But I've heard reports where that version didn't work reliably for some people. You could try it out.

I've wanted to fix some more stuff, but can't seem to find the time since well, basically, the kids.

The kids must be grown up and gone off to college by now. :)

Any progress on synching? Even a crude keeping-roughly-up-with would be a great help.

Haha; they’re 4, 3½ and 1, respectively, so college is some way off still!

The problem is that this ought to work in the versions I indicated, and it actually does work on my development machine. This makes it a lot harder to figure out why it won’t work on your machine, and therefore how to fix it. The alternative is to completely rewrite that part of the plugin, but... that takes time to do properly, too.

I just got back from holiday, and my weekends are booked until early next year (meeting up with friends, celebrating St. Nicholas with friend & family, my Dad turning 70, Christmas, New Year’s Eve). So don’t hold your breath... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I understand completely. What is your system? What OS? Maybe I can sleuth it on my own if I know of a system on which it works.

Hi, I found the answer to my problem about HTML Preview jumping to the top of the file after every keystroke: I just set it for Explorer 11 version!
